Our Lovely Sun
I count two beats left
Two crunched heartbeats before I'm gone
They begin:
clench-
Lay from my angle the setting star washed the sky red
I take one fourth of my immense time to immerse in it
untense
The edges of the world seem to collapse slightly
clench Unacceptable to say - the colour washed my blood ultra-crimson. Somehow redder than red -
My eyes must be what are losing themselves now
First was my legs - folded into the dunes, the feeling of burning grains
lost on their skin.
–untense
Long gone are my nerves
Now the neurons blink out like dying stars
Like our lovely sun
