Our Lovely Sun

I count two beats left
Two crunched heartbeats before I'm gone

They begin:

clench - Lay from my angle the setting star washed the sky red
I take one fourth of my immense time to immerse in it
- untense

The edges of the world seem to collapse slightly

clench - Unacceptable to say - the colour washed my blood ultra-crimson. Somehow redder than red - My eyes must be what are losing themselves now
First was my legs - folded into the dunes, the feeling of burning grains lost on their skin.
- untense

Long gone are my nerves
Now the neurons blink out like dying stars

Like our lovely sun
